On August 18th, 2017, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that the Chester County Fire Chiefs Association was awarded a $381,000 SAFER grant for volunteer recruitment purposes. The grant funding will be utilized for a three-year period to highlight the need that volunteers are needed countywide for all emergency services disciplines. These monies will be utilized for advertising in the following areas: social media, print, direct mailings, movie theater advertisements, and billboard advertisements. The county-wide recruitment and retention committee, in conjunction with our grant writer John Sly, worked tirelessly to work towards this funding.
